Private Equity Jobs of the Week: Blackstone, Z Capital Partners, SFERS are hiring

Blackstone is seeking a buy-side M&A and corporate development analyst. The hire will identify and execute potential M&A opportunities and strategic initiatives in the alternative asset management industry. Duties include constructing detailed financial models and valuation analyses, conducting research and competitor analysis, drafting investment memos and presentations for Blackstone’s senior management team, and working with business units to create multi-asset product offerings for institutions. One to three years of industry experience required, preferably investment banking or transaction-related. The position is located in New York.

Z Capital Partners is searching for a managing director, private equity. The successful candidate will be a senior member of the investment team, working on prospective and ongoing investments. Responsibilities include leading due diligence activities, sourcing middle-market private equity investments, assisting in the development and execution of strategic plans, contributing to the identification and development of portfolio company leadership talent, and working with senior management and operating professionals to enhance the value of existing portfolio companies. Candidates need eight to ten years of demonstrated successful experience in the sourcing, acquisition, value creation and exiting of middle-market companies. The position is located in Lake Forest, Illinois, or New York City.

San Francisco Employees’ Retirement System is on the hunt for a senior portfolio manager, private equity. The hire will have primary responsibility for SFERS’ buyout partnerships and will have the opportunity to help construct and manage a global private equity portfolio through the sourcing, underwriting, execution and active management of global investment partnerships and direct investments. Qualifications include six years of experience with an investment management firm, pension plan, university endowment, foundation, corporation, family office or consulting firm. The position is located in San Francisco.

Boehringer Ingelheim is looking to hire an executive director, corporate venture capital. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying, sourcing, and managing biotech equity investments in the U.S. The overall goal of the position is to create strategic options for the company to expand into novel therapeutic approaches and businesses, beyond its current R&D focus. Candidates need a PhD in biology, biochemistry, pharmacy or veterinary sciences; ten years of work experience in pharma R&D, business development or finance desired, along with two to four years of demonstrated venture capital investing. The position is located in Boston.

Morgan, Lewis & Bockius is seeking mid-level associates with law firm experience to join its mergers and acquisitions/private equity practice. A strong background in M&A transactions is required, including drafting acquisition agreements. The position is located in New York.
