Private Equity Jobs of the Week: Aetna, Mayo Clinic, BlackRock are hiring

A weekly roundup of jobs in the private equity industry – from buyout shops to venture capital funds to investment banks.

Aetna is looking for a senior M&A professional to join its corporate development organization. The hire will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, negotiating and executing transactions involving the purchase, sale or combination of businesses for all of Aetna’s assets globally. Qualifications include at least seven years of experience in investment banking, corporate development, private equity, or corporate finance advisory. The position is located in Hartford, Connecticut.

Mayo Clinic has an opening for an investment officer in its treasury services department. The hire will spend at least 80 percent of his or her time monitoring and evaluating external investment managers, conducting due diligence on potential new investments, and preparing analyses and reports; up to 20 percent may be spent on analytical projects or general treasury-related activities such as bond issuances, risk financing and insurance programs. Candidates should have an MBA or related graduate degree, as well as a minimum of five years of investment management, capital markets or other relevant experience. The position is located in Rochester, Minnesota.

BlackRock‘s US Private Capital is recruiting an associate-level professional to focus on investment due diligence and portfolio company monitoring. The successful candidate will report to the head of investments. Responsibilities include industry research, financial modeling, and preparation of investment memoranda. Candidates must have prior investment banking or private equity experience. The position is located in New York.

Northern Trust is looking to hire a senior associate, private equity for its alternative investment platform, 50 South Capital Advisors. The private equity team makes primary, secondary and direct co-investments in the U.S., Europe and Asia. The successful candidate will participate in all the group’s activities, with a focus on the U.S. buyout space. This will include meeting fund management teams, completing due diligence, analyzing historical performance, developing a network within the industry, participating in portfolio monitoring, creating and updating marketing materials, and working on fundraising related initiatives. Candidates should have three to five years of experience in leveraged finance, consulting, public accounting, corporate finance or private equity. The position is located in Chicago.

Brook Venture Partners is seeking an M&A deal flow analyst to assist in sourcing, evaluation, qualification and preliminary due diligence for one of Brook Fund III’s portfolio companies. Responsibilities include market research to understand industry trends and source viable leads; outbound calling to generate new deals; and building and maintaining relationships with company executives and investment bankers.  Previous experience in sales, corporate development or outbound calling is preferred. Limited travel will be required. The position is located just north of Boston in Wakefield, MA.
