Private Equity Jobs of the Week: Ardian, J&J and BlackRock are hiring

This week’s jobs include a venture principal at J&J, an IR manager at Ardian and an associate at Comcast Ventures.

The Johnson & Johnson Innovation- JJDC, Inc., the venture arm of Johnson & Johnson, is searching for a principal of venture investments. The hire will work closely with team members of the internal JJDC investment team and will be responsible for sourcing, analyzing, evaluating, internally selling, making, managing and exiting investments in target companies, with a principal focus on data and machine learning for biopharma investing. Candidates should have a science background (ideally math, physics, engineering and/or computer science) including one or more advanced scientific degrees. A scientific MS or PhD degree is required. Prior experience as an investor from a relevant venture capital, private equity or corporate venture fund is preferred. The position is in the San Francisco Bay area.

Ardian is on the hunt for an investor relations manager. The hire will build relationships with investors, both existing and prospective, who allocate to private funds within the province of Quebec and potentially beyond. Also, he or she will manage investor reporting needs and re-ups as appropriate; and educate prospective investors on relevant Ardian products and market trends in general. Candidates should be fluent in French and English; and have approximately six to 10 years of experience including at least three years raising capital for private funds or as an allocator to such funds. Applicants should have an undergraduate degree from a leading educational institution. Although not specifically required, additional credentials such as an MBA or CFA would be considered a plus. The position is in New York.

BlackRock is seeking a small/mid cap investment associate. The hire will be involved in investing across both public and private opportunities and across market cap. Also, he or she will work directly with the co-PMs. Candidates should have one to two years of investment banking work and one to two years of private equity growth equity experience sourcing and executing private company transactions. Applicants that have worked in specific industry groups (e.g. TMT or consumer or industrials) are preferred but not required. The position is in New York.

Comcast Ventures is seeking an associate. The hire will be responsible for the integration and evaluation of all existing relevant data, working toward goals which best meet the investment goals of the organization. Also, he or she will monitor domestic and world situations, analyzing their effect on investments to ensure the successful management of portfolios. Candidates should possess two or more years of investment banking, consulting, private equity or venture capital experience. The position is in New York.
