The hire will work directly with the firm’s managing directors across all facets of the investment process, which include opportunity identification, due diligence/deal execution and portfolio support. Candidates should have one to two years of consulting, investment banking, or industry experience and two or more years at an investment firm (private equity, growth or venture capital) evaluating and making investments. He or she should be intellectually curious with strong due diligence experience, financial modeling and communication skills (oral and written). Experience in education and/or technology sectors are plus, but not a requirement. Lazard is seeking to add an investment banking associate to its telecom, media and technology team. The hire will serve as a key member of the deal team, working directly with managing directors, directors, vice presidents and analysts on engagements. He or she will be given significant responsibility and will gain in-depth transaction experience, client exposure, negotiation skills and an understanding of transaction structures. Candidates should have a strong undergraduate and graduate academic performance (3.5 GPA or better). An MBA or equivalent graduate school degree in progress is preferred but not required. Also, three years of experience as an analyst or at least one year of experience as an associate is strongly preferred. The position is in New York.
CPP Investment Board is looking to hire a senior summer associate for the direct private equity group. Duties include analyzing investment opportunities for a variety of industries, companies and securities; managing and performing detailed due diligence processes; and building complex financial models to assist in investment evaluation, structuring and financing. Candidates should be in a full-time MBA program with an expected graduation date in 2020. CPPIB is looking for applicants with a finance focus and a strong track record of at least 3 years of relevant work experience. The position is in Toronto.
Ohio Public Employees Retirement System is on the hunt for a senior investment analyst of external public markets. Duties include monitoring existing external investment managers including leading manager portfolio review calls and meetings; screening and conducting comprehensive investment due diligence on prospective investments; and making investment recommendations and preparing associates reports. Also, the hire will assist with monitoring and evaluating portfolio structure including considerations of risk and return while recommending action on portfolios and investments. A bachelor’s degree is required; an MBA is preferred. Applicants should have four years of experience working with external investment managers or direct management of investment portfolios. The position is in Columbus, Ohio.
GCM Grosvenor is looking to hire a private equity investments analyst. The hire will be involved in all aspects of private equity investments, including due diligence, transaction execution and investment monitoring. He or she will focus on the primaries vertical but also may gain exposure to co-investment and secondary investment opportunities. Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in finance, economics or related degree with superior academic performance. Also, they should have prior experience underwriting primary fund investments and managing multi-year primary fund. Prior exposure to hard-to-access buyout and growth capital funds is preferred.
