The hire will be responsible for managing and maintaining, with the opportunity to lead, a broad range of banking and lending relationships with venture capital and private equity firm clients. Also, he or she must be able to engineer complex and creative credit solutions to fit client needs; perform due diligence analysis; underwrite and negotiate loan transactions independently; and structure and present debt proposals. Candidates should have five plus years of commercial lending or related experience. A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required; a master’s degree is preferred. MetLife is seeking an investment associate for its private equity unit. Duties include sourcing and tracking new opportunities with external investment managers; preparing investment memos and presentations for investment committee; and meeting with existing GPs to receive updates to evaluate investment progress. Candidates should have four to six years of financial services experience and a minimum of one to two years of experience in the due diligence, selection, monitoring and management of private equity fund investments.
