Ares Management is looking to hire an associate vice president, counsel for its private equity group. Duties include advising investment and non-investment professionals on a wide range of legal matters, whether responding to inquiries or proactively issue spotting. Also, he or she will assist with the “hands-on” completion of the legal team’s document workflow as well as supervising outside counsel on a number of matters. Candidates should have a JD with a strong academic background; California Bar membership or ability to qualify as a registered in-house counsel in California; and three to five plus years of relevant experience at a top-tier law firm and/or in-house. Investment management industry experience is appreciated, but not required. The position is in Century City, California.
Blackstone is seeking an operations associate for its private equity business. The hire will work closely with deal teams/fund counsel/tax advisors and portfolio company management on investment transactions and support; and interact with the fund accountants on deal transaction accounting for GAAP F/S. Also, he or she will manage the investment closing/sale funds flow process alongside the deal teams; and manage responsibilities and assignments delegated to the junior New York and offshore teams. Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; a CPA is preferred. Also, they should have four to six years of public accounting, fund accounting or fund operations experience.
