BRS is on the hunt for a private equity associate. The program is two to three years. The hire will serve as a generalist across the consumer and retail sector. He or she will support vice presidents and managing directors at all stages of investment, including new deal prospecting, financial modeling, due diligence, investment committee materials and portfolio company monitoring. Applicants should be a pre- or post-MBA candidate with 3 plus years of investment banking experience in M&A, leveraged finance or consumer and retail groups. Also, he or she should have a general background knowledge of consumer & retail industry. Also required is an extensive knowledge of financial and operating models and related Microsoft Office programs. The targeted start is immediate. Gatewood Capital Partners is looking to hire a senior associate/vice president for its private equity team. In addition to monitoring and reporting on existing portfolio investments, the hire will take a leading role in sourcing, evaluating and transacting on new investments. Also, he or she will conduct in-depth industry research, lead due diligence processes and develop detailed investment theses. The role will involve building financial models, running scenario analyses, preparing term sheets and assisting the partners in structuring and negotiating prospective investment terms. Candidates should have bachelor’s degree in finance, business or a related field from a top school; an MBA or JD is preferred. He or she should have at least three years of specific, relevant investment banking, private equity, PE fund placement agent or equivalent legal experience. The position is in New York.

Liberty Mutual is seeking a private equity associate for its global private investments group. Responsibilities include performing comprehensive analysis and developing recommendations on fund investment opportunities; developing and maintaining relationships with private equity fund general partners and market intermediaries; and managing and monitoring current portfolio investments and preparing portfolio progress reports. Candidates should have an MBA, CFA or equivalent background; and three to five years of relevant work experience. The position is in Boston.
