Private Equity Jobs of the Week: GIC, Goldman Sachs, Ares and Brookfield are hiring

GIC Private Equity is searching for an assistant vice president of private equity for its direct investments team. The hire will support vice president/senior vice president in sourcing, evaluating and executing investments in private equity deals in companies. He or she will focus on private equity deals, monitor assigned investments, support assigned GIC representative at investor/board meetings, interact with management and other investors on a regular basis. Candidates should have good academic qualifications with at least five years of work experience in a top-tier investment bank and private equity fund. The position is in Beijing, China.

Goldman Sachs’ merchant banking division is seeking to hire an associate for its private credit group. Duties include originating investment ideas across the product suite of the PCG team via early engagement with financial sponsors and company management teams; engaging in all aspects of due diligence and business analysis to develop and refine investment theses; and participating in structuring, negotiating and documenting investments. Candidates should have experience in the financial services industry, preferably buyside or investment banking; strong quantitative, financial modeling, analytical and problem-solving skills; and a passion for fundamental credit investing. The position is in New York.

Ares Management LP is on the hunt for an associate for its private equity investor relations group. The hire will assist in building client materials and various prospects/marketing materials, updating market and fund specific data within existing materials on a monthly, quarterly or ad hoc basis. He or she will also be responsible for tailoring materials to reflect market environment to meet needs of various users. Candidates should have strong verbal and written communication skills and a bachelor’s degree with a minimum of two to four years of related work experience in the financial industry, preferably within private equity or distressed debt. The position is in Los Angeles.

Brookfield Asset Management is seeking summer investment analysts for its ten-week program. Summer analysts will learn the basics of global investing and conclude by preparing investment recommendation(s) to the team. The program is designed to offer summer interns exposure to Brookfield’s investment philosophy and identify candidates for full-time employment in the investment analyst program. Candidates must be in their final year of university study and be pursuing a bachelor’s degree in accounting, economics, finance, mathematics, quantitative finance or related field. The position is in Chicago.
