The hire will conduct due diligence and evaluate secondary private equity transactions, co-investment opportunities across a broad range of private equity deal types and sectors; and private equity managers for consideration as part of fund-of-funds and or separate account mandates. Also, he or she will present investment opportunities to the investment committee through written and oral presentations and conduct required follow-up. Candidates should have a minimum of five plus years of experience in corporate finance/M&A/leverage finance/private equity or other private or public markets investing. Other requirements include sound investment judgment and outstanding numerical, analytical and valuation skills for the purpose of assessing investment opportunities. The position is in New York.
CapitalG (formerly Google Capital) is looking to hire a counsel for investments to its team. The hire will manage transactional agreements, particularly follow-on investments and other transactions involving CapitalG’s portfolio; monitor and review board and stockholder communications from portfolio companies; and manage pre-investment documentation and provide general commercial and contract legal support. Applicants should have a JD degree and four years of corporate, securities, investment, or other corporate transactional experience or working in-house and with a national law firm. Preferred qualifications include having venture capital investment and corporate financing experience (e.g. public and private equity and debt financing transactions) structuring and drafting agreements and leading cross-functional teams. Candidates should be admitted to the bar in California and in good standing or otherwise authorized to practice law in US (e.g. have registered in-house status in California). MetLife is seeking a private equity associate. Duties include sourcing and tracking new opportunities with external investment managers; preparing investment memos and presentations for investment committee; and meeting with existing GP’s to receive updates to evaluate investment progress, team/organizational changes, strategy and to receive updates on the state of the markets and potential investment opportunities. Applicants should have four to six years of financial services experience and a minimum of one to two years of experience in the due diligence, selection, monitoring and management of private equity fund investments. A bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, engineering or similar analytical/quantitative field is required; an MBA or masters’ degree and/or CFA is highly desirable.
