Private Equity Jobs of the Week: Oaktree, Greenspring and USC are hiring

A weekly roundup of jobs in the private equity industry – from buyout shops to venture capital funds to investment banks.

Oaktree Capital Management LP is on the hunt for a senior vice president of origination. The hire will originate and source private debt opportunities; assist with initial screening and due diligence of new opportunities; structure and negotiate prospective deals with borrowers; facilitate execution of credit agreements; and monitor ongoing performance of investments. Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree; an MBA or other advanced degree is preferred. Also, they should have a minimum seven to 10 years of private lending origination experience. The position is in New York City.

Greenspring Associates is searching for an associate. Duties include assisting with the sourcing and evaluation of potential venture funds, expansion stage start-up and secondary investment opportunities; making recommendations to the partnership; monitoring a sub-set of the existing Greenspring fund and company portfolio; and preparing quarterly reports for investors. Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in a related field and a true passion for the venture capital industry. Three to five years of experience working in venture capital, private equity, finance, engineering, start-up operations, consulting or a similar industry is preferred, but not necessary. The position is in Owings Mills, Maryland.

University of Southern California is seeking an investment associate. The hire will evaluate and analyze the performance of investment managers and asset class composites for the endowment and other university programs; collect, calculate and analyze statistical information on investments managers; and assist the chief investment officer on asset allocation, rebalancing and liquidity analysis. A master’s degree is preferred but candidates should have a  bachelor’s degree. Candidates should have a minimum experience of three years. The position is in Los Angeles.

Imperial Capital is looking to hire a M&A associate. The hire will conduct research and prepare analyses of companies, industries, capital markets, historical financial statements and prospective financial information; and create and author financial models, valuation analysis, debt capacity and capital adequacy analyses, and documents and presentations for proposals and transactions. Also, he or she will identify financing alternatives, capital sources, strategic and financial buyers; and manage due diligence and client relationships at appropriate levels. Candidates should have four or more years of investment banking, private equity and/or corporate development experience with general knowledge of mergers and acquisitions. They should also have completed an undergraduate/MBA degree, preferably in finance or accounting. Securities licensing requirements: Series 7, 63, 79. The position is in Los Angeles.
