Private Equity Jobs of the Week: U.S. Energy Dept, Morgan Stanley and Alaska Permanent Fund Corp are hiring

The U.S. Department of Energy is on the hunt for an investment officer. The hire will manage or lead a group of investment officers reviewing and processing energy project applications submitted to DOE for financing. Also, he or she will serve as a loan program office representative applying project finance knowledge to recommend appropriate terms and conditions for approving a federal loan or loan guarantee. Candidates should be a U.S. citizen and have experience in leading a group of investment officers reviewing and processing energy project applications submitted for financing. The position is in Washington, D.C.

Arena is seeking a vice president/director to join its real estate private credit team. The hire will report directly to the managing director of real estate private credit and be expected to originate, evaluate and execute investment ideas and manage deal processes. Candidates should have a minimum of five to seven years of real estate lending and credit investment experience, preferably with private investment firms that specialize in opportunistic senior and subordinated real estate secured investments. An MBA with a finance focus is preferred but not required. The position is in New York City.

Alaska Permanent Fund Corporation is searching for an associate/senior associate for its private markets team. The hire will assist the director and portfolio managers in the identification, evaluation, selection and monitoring of investments in their respective portfolios. Candidates include a bachelor’s degree and two to three years of directly relevant work experience. He or she should have a sound working knowledge of portfolio management, business strategy, transaction execution (M&A), capital markets, accounting and private equity or hedge fund investments. The position is in Juneau, Alaska.

Morgan Stanley is looking to hire an analyst/associate for its private markets team. The hire will conduct strategy research to compare relative value across asset classes/strategies and help determine the most compelling way to express a particular investment view as well as originate deal flow through internal and external networks. Also, he or she will conduct financial modeling and analysis to forecast investment performance across various scenarios. Candidates should have one to three years of industry experience. An undergraduate or graduate concentration in finance, economics or technical field is desired. The position is in Conshohocken, Pennsylvania.
