PWP appoints adds new MD to team

Perella Weinberg Partners has named Marie-Hélène S. McAndrew as a managing director in its asset management business. Previously, McAndrew worked at Permal Asset Management.

NEW YORK–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Perella Weinberg Partners today announced that Marie-Hélène S. McAndrew has joined the Firm as a Managing Director in its Asset Management business. Based in New York, Ms. McAndrew will work with the Marketing and Client Services Team as a Product Specialist for the PWP Global Macro strategy.

PWP Global Macro strategy is a highly liquid, global macro strategy investing in equity indices, currencies, sovereign debt, credit, and commodities. The investment strategy is based on fundamental macro-economic research to establish predictive relationships between macro-economic factors and asset returns. The strategy is led by portfolio manager Maria Vassalou.

Ms. McAndrew has 20 years of experience in the asset management industry, with expertise across multiple strategies and geographies. She joins Perella Weinberg Partners from Permal Asset Management, where she was a Senior Vice President and Portfolio Manager for Permal Macro, a $2 billion macro fund of hedge funds, and served as Lead Portfolio Manager for additional client accounts with global macro mandates. Previously, she was Co-Portfolio Manager for one of Permal’s multi-strategy funds. Prior to that, Ms. McAndrew was an Assistant Vice President, Client Relations at Credit Suisse Asset Management and a Financial Analyst at Permal Asset Management. She has also been named among the Top 50 Women in Hedge Funds by The Hedge Fund Journal.
