Quadrangle Opening Hong Kong Office

HONG KONG (Reuters) – Quadrangle Group LLC, a private equity and investment firm specializing in the media and communications sector, said on Thursday it had opened a Hong Kong office to help it do more business in Asia.

Quadrangle, which has more than $6 billion of assets under management, said the Hong Kong office will be headed by Edward Sippel, who joined Quadrangle in 2007.

Sippel was previously a partner at TVG Capital Partners, a Hong Kong-based private equity firm that focused on investments in the telecom, media and technology sectors.

Before joining TVG, Sippel was with the Asian Infrastructure Fund, another private equity firm and also worked for Morgan Stanley.

Steven Rattner, a managing principal of Quadrangle, said in a statement the new office “will help us expand our capabilities and geographic footprint, while also adding value to our existing investments.” (Reporting by Jeffrey Hodgson; Editing by Ken Wills)
