Quinton Jay has been named a managing director of Bacchus Capital Management, a private equity and mezzanine firm focused on the wine industry. He previously was vice president and general manager of Artesa Winery and Vineyards.
Bacchus Capital Management, LLC, a San Francisco-based investment firm specializing in mezzanine and private equity wine industry investments, announced today the appointment of Quinton Jay as Managing Director.
Jay will be responsible for sourcing and evaluating potential transactions, overseeing the performance of Bacchus portfolio wineries and managing the research, investment and marketing teams. He has 15 years of experience running both boutique and established, well-known wineries. Most recently, Jay was Vice President and General Manager at Artesa Winery and Vineyards, managing all aspects of the 100,000 case ultra-premium brand. Previously, he was Managing Director of Bacchus Consulting Group, an independent winery consulting firm he founded in 2001, whose major clients included Beringer Blass Wines, Etude, Quintessa and Geyser Peak Wines. Prior to Bacchus Consulting, Jay was General Manager of Bonny Doon Vineyard. Jay began his career in the beverage industry in brand management and strategic planning at Coca-Cola, following his position as Associate Vice President in the corporate finance and investment banking division of Bank of America.
