PRESS RELEASE

bChannels has completed a management buyout, supported by private equity firm RCapital. Oxford-based bChannels, was set up twelve years ago to help the world’s largest technology companies optimise routes to market, develop channel programs and manage relationships with channel partners. The company operates globally from bases in UK, West coast of the USA and Asia. Its clients include Cisco, IBM, Symantec, SAP and HP.

The deal was led by bChannels management team, Matt Rowland-Jones, Phil Gowing and Chris Bard, who acquired the company from its parent company Adventis Group Plc (“Adventis”) backed by RCapital’s growth fund. Adventis Group Plc sold bChannels Limited (“bChannels”) to a newly formed entity partly owned by the bChannels management team and partly by RCapital Partners LLP (“RCapital”).

RCapital supported the management buyout in a two-staged process. The private equity firm firstly purchased the bank debt from Lloyds TSB Bank plc and Lloyds TSB Commercial Finance Limited and secondly it helped the bChannels management team buy back the shares in the business using RCapital’s growth fund.

RCapital founder Jamie Constable, commented: “bChannels has built a solid reputation for building and maintaining effective channel programmes for major technology companies that directly impact the bottom line. The world’s leading technology behemoths rely heavily on effective and strong performing channel partners to drive out those critical sales and growth opportunities from every corner of the world. bChannels has an impressive track record of making that happen for its clients.”

bChannels director, Matt Rowland-Jones, added: “With the backing of RCapital we can now get behind our growth plans and strive forward as a new independent and profitable business. Stepping away from our parent company Adventis Group Ltd gives us the freedom to shape the direction and future of our business which had previously been difficult to do.”
