RCP Advisors Hires David McCoy for Co-Investment Business

The Chicago-based fund-of-funds, RCP Advisors, has just hired David McCoy to manage RCPDirect, one of the firm’s co-investment funds. McCoy comes from National City Equity Partners, the mezzanine arm of PNC Financial Services Group, where he was a partner.


RCP Advisors, LLC, a leading private equity fund-of-funds sponsor focused on North American lower middle market buyouts, is pleased to announce the hiring of David McCoy as a Principal and Portfolio Manager of RCPDirect, LP, a co-investment fund sponsored by RCP Advisors.  

Mr. McCoy leads the firm’s co-investment functions including sourcing, due diligence and portfolio management.   Mark Sawyer and Michael Allietta also recently joined RCP Advisors’ co-investment team as investment analysts.

Prior to joining RCP Advisors, Mr. McCoy was a Partner at National City Equity Partners, the private equity / mezzanine arm of PNC Financial Services Group, Inc. He began his private equity career at Thayer Capital Partners and gained investment banking experience at BT Alex Brown.  

Mr. McCoy holds a B.A. in Economics from Princeton University and an M.B.A. from University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School.
