Renkes Named VP at Barrier Advisors

Barrier Advisors has appointed Bobby Renkes as a Vice President. Most recently, Renkes was an M&A and Financial Associate at Energy Transfer Partners.

Barrier Advisors, a Dallas-based investment banking firm, has announced the appointment of Bobby D. Renkes as a Vice President.  Mr. Renkes brings extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions and capital markets services and in-depth knowledge of the infrastructure industry and the entire energy spectrum, specifically the upstream and midstream sectors. This appointment supports Barrier Advisors’ commitment to the continued growth of its oil and gas activities.

During his career, Mr. Renkes has supported the execution of numerous multi-billion dollar mergers and acquisitions and capital markets transactions. Representative oil and gas transactions include Sunoco, Inc., Sunoco Logistics, L.P. and Southern Union Company.  Prior to joining our firm, Mr. Renkes was an M&A and Financial Associate at Energy Transfer Partners, L.P., one of the largest and most diversified portfolios of energy assets in the U.S., and focused on mergers and acquisitions and strategic initiatives in the oil and gas midstream sector.  Prior to that he was a Senior Associate at KPMG in its Project Finance Group and provided buy-side and sell-side advisory services to clients in a wide range of industries.
Mr. Renkes holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).  He was a member of the University of Notre Dame’s football team and graduated cum laude in 3 ½ years from Notre Dame’s Mendoza College of Business with a BBA in Accountancy.
