Roark Capital raises $2.5 bln for fourth fund

Atlanta-based private equity firm Roark Capital Group has closed its fourth fund at a hard cap of $2.5 billion.

Lazard Frères & Co worked as a placement agent for Roark Capital Partners IV.

Roark is currently investing out of its third fund, which closed at $1.56 billion in 2012. Roark Captial Partners III generated a net IRR of 13.33 percent with a net multiple of 1.12x as of June 30, 2014, according to Bison data.

Roark focuses on investing in retail, restaurant and consumer service franchises.

Among the franchise brands the firm owns are Anytime Fitness, Arby’s, Corner Bakery, Hardee’s, Carvel Ice Cream and Moe’s Southwest Grill.
