Robert Bertagna Joins Macquarie

NEW YORK (Reuters) – Macquarie (MQG.AX) on Tuesday said it hired former Barclays co-head of industrials Robert Bertagna to lead its industrials investment banking effort in the United States.

Bertagna will start at the Australian investment bank in March, based in New York. His title will be senior managing director and head of industrials in the United States.

Bertagna has been at Barclays (BARC.L) since the bank bought Lehman Brothers’ main U.S. brokerage in September 2008. Before that he was at Lehman for eight years and eventually led their global industrials team.

Companies Bertagna has advised include Danaher (DHR.N), Tyco International (TYC.N), Delta Airlines (DAL.N) and Sonoco Products (SON.N), according to Macquarie. (Reporting by Michael Erman; Editing by Gary Hill)
