Robert McGuire Joins CCMP Capital

Robert McGuire has joined CCMP Capital as a senior member of the firm’s London office. He most recently served as vice chairman of J.P. Morgan Cazenove.

CCMP Capital announced today that Robert J. McGuire will be joining the firm as a Senior Member of CCMP Capital Advisors (UK), LLP (CCMP Capital’s UK affiliate) and a member of the firm’s Investment Committee effective August 18, 2010. Together with Thomas Walker and Stephen Welton, also Senior Members, Mr. McGuire will oversee the expansion of CCMP’s investment activities in Europe. He will be based in the firm’s London office.

Mr. McGuire, 45, most recently served as Vice Chairman of JPMorgan Cazenove where he was responsible for senior client relationships with numerous UK-based companies, with a focus on those in the energy sector. From 2005 to 2008, he served as JPMorgan Cazenove’s co-head of Corporate Finance and then head of Corporates. In this capacity, he was responsible for integrating the corporate finance groups of JPMorgan and Cazenove in their 2005 joint venture and was also a member of the firm’s Executive Committee. From 2002 until 2005, Mr. McGuire was head of UK Investment Banking for JPMorgan where he restructured the team and initiated a review of strategic options in the UK. He served as head of JPMorgan’s European energy team from 2000 to 2002, where he oversaw the merger and consolidation of the European energy teams of JPMorgan, Chase and Flemings. Prior to joining JPMorgan, Mr. McGuire was at Goldman, Sachs & Co. ultimately serving as head of the firm’s European energy and power team.

Mr. McGuire earned an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School and a B.A. in history and in economics from Boston College.
