Roll Coater Adds On

Roll Coater Inc., a portfolio company of Willis Stein & Partners, has acquired the coil coating assets of Material Sciences Corp. The deal was valued at $10 million.

Roll Coater, Inc., the premier, full service United States based coil coater with experience in servicing the most diverse customer base in North America, today announced the acquisition from Material Sciences Corporation (MSC) of additional coil coating assets, related processing equipment, associated business base and related customer goodwill associated with MSC’s Plant #7 in Elk Grove Village, Illinois.

As part of the agreement, MSC will not develop, manufacture, or sell general-line coil coating products in some North American markets for five years. MSC has committed to complete the wind-down of its Plant #7 operations and exit the related business no later than June 11, 2010.
