ROTH Capital Partners has named Richard deNey as Managing Director and Head of Technology Investment Banking. He joins from Needham & Co. where he was a Managing Director and Head of Mergers and Acquisitions for the past eight years. ROTH is based in Newport Beach, Calif.

Mr. deNey joins ROTH from Needham & Company where he was a Managing Director and Head of Mergers and Acquisitions for the past eight years. Mr. deNey began his investment banking career in the highly regarded M&A Group of First Boston Corporation where he was involved in a number of high profile and complex transactions. He later worked as a Managing Director at both Bankers Trust and Bear Stearns where he led cross border M&A and advised leading private equity firms on both M&A and public equity underwritings. Prior to joining Needham, Mr. deNey was SVP, Strategy and Development at EDS and Chief Strategy and Development Officer at Scient. He holds a BES in Electrical Engineering from Johns Hopkins University and an MBA from the University of Chicago, graduating second in his class.
