SafeNet Inc., an information security company owned by Vector Capital, has acquired the assets of Beep Science AS, a provider of mobile digital rights management software. No financial terms were disclosed.

SafeNet, Inc., a global leader in information security, today announced that it has acquired assets of Beep Science AS, a leading provider of mobile Digital Rights Management (DRM) software.

SafeNet, already the leader in open standards-based DRM with its portfolio of server-side toolkits, will integrate Beep Science's mobile DRM software to offer the market's only end-to-end, open standards-based Digital Rights Management solutions for service providers, device manufacturers, platform vendors, and content owners.
Beep Science has been a leading provider of Industry Standard Mobile Digital Rights Management software solutions since the company was founded in 2000. Their standards-based client and server-side solutions have been deployed by world-class brands in the Media and Telecom Industries including Cosmote, HP, Huawei, MediaTek, Mobily, Nokia, and Sony.

The combination of SafeNet-Beep Science solutions will become part of SafeNet's Commercial Security Division under the direction of Mr. Panjwani.
