Financial technology startup Scivantage has named Andrew Haines as its new chief information officer. Prior to joining Scivantage, Haines was CIO at GAIN Capital Group. Scivantage is based in Jersey City, N.J.

Scivantage®, an independent financial technology provider with proven expertise in online brokerage, tax and portfolio reporting and wealth management applications, announced today the appointment of Andrew Haines as Chief Information Officer (CIO). In his new role, Haines will be responsible for working with the management team to enrich the company’s business growth and client services strategy, as well as streamline product development and delivery.
Based in Jersey City, NJ, and reporting directly to Scivantage CEO Adnane Charchour, Haines has more than two decades of experience in the financial services industry. Prior to joining Scivantage, Haines was CIO at GAIN Capital Group where he led all aspects of technology strategy and built an award-winning trading platform. Haines has also held senior technology management positions at Merrill Lynch, Salomon Smith Barney, and Virtual Growth/Insperity.

Haines was recognized by the New Jersey Technology Council as the 2012 “CIO of the Year,” and was also in Wall Street & Technology’s Gold Book (2010) as one of the industry’s most innovative technology leaders. He is also an accredited author, having most recently published, “Updating Your Company’s Technology Strategy: Leading CTOs and CIOs on Working with the Executive Team, Managing Budgeting Constraints, and Delivering Business Value” in October 2010. Haines holds a Masters in Information Management from the Stevens Institute of Technology. In addition, he earned a BS in Business Administration with a focus in Finance and a Minor in Management Information/Decision Support Systems from the University of Delaware.
