Sea Island Closes Sale to Investor Group, Which Includes Oaktree and Avenue Capital

An investor group, that includes Oaktree Capital Management and Avenue Capital Group, has completed its buy of Sea Island Co. Financial terms weren’t announced. Sea Island is a Georgia resort and real estate development company. The sale to Avenue and Oaktree was reportedly pegged at $200 million.


Sea Island Acquisition LP, a limited partnership comprising investment funds managed by the global investment firms Oaktree Capital Management, L.P., Avenue Capital Group, The Anschutz Corporation and Starwood Capital Group, today announced the completion of the acquisition of substantially all of the assets of Sea Island Company, a private resort and real estate development company.
