Searchlight makes two senior hires

Searchlight Capital Partners LP has named James Redmayne as partner and Giles Marshall as a managing director.

Searchlight Capital Partners LP has named James Redmayne as partner and Giles Marshall as a managing director. Redmayne will begin his new role in July coming from CVC Capital Partners while Marshall previously worked at Bregal Freshstream where he was a director.

London, June 15, 2020: Searchlight Capital Partners, L.P. (“Searchlight” or “the Firm”), a leading global private investment firm, today announced the appointment of two new senior hires to its London office.

James Redmayne will join the firm as a Partner in July, bringing with him deep experience across the Business Services, TMT and Consumer sectors. Since 2005, he has worked for CVC Capital Partners, holding positions in London and Hong Kong, most recently as a Senior Managing Director. Since 2013, Mr. Redmayne has helped build the CVC Asia Regional team, responsible for sourcing and executing cross-border transactions across the region. Prior to moving to Asia, Mr. Redmayne spent seven years as a member of the CVC UK Investment team based in London. Mr. Redmayne started his career with Goldman Sachs Investment Banking in London, following completion of a Master’s Degree in Engineering at Oxford University.

Giles Marshall joins the firm as a Managing Director, having spent four years as a Director at Bregal Freshstream. In this role, Mr. Marshall focused on investments across the industrial, leisure, business services and healthcare sectors. Prior to Bregal Freshstream, he spent five years at Bregal Capital and began his career at UBS Investment Bank.
