Greg Bresner has joined SecondMarket as its first chief financial officer and head of data and analytics. He previously was COO of House Party Inc.

SecondMarket, the largest secondary market for illiquid assets, announced today that Greg Besner has joined the firm as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Head of Data and Analytics. Besner, who previously was the Chief Operating Officer at House Party, Inc., will oversee all financial reporting, budgets, metrics and human resources at SecondMarket. He also will explore new revenue opportunities related to proprietary transaction data and illiquid asset information developed by SecondMarket. Besner is the New York-based company’s first CFO.

Prior to joining House Party, Besner was the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Computershare Executive Services, f/k/a Restricted Stock Systems. In 2007, he sold Restricted Stock Systems to Computershare Limited, and he remained as President until January 2009. Prior to his work with Restricted Stock Systems, Besner worked at Merrill Lynch and Goldman Sachs.

In addition, Besner previously served on the Board of Advisors of SecondMarket. He earned his M.B.A. from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and received his B.A. from Rutgers University.
