Los Angeles-based investment firm Shamrock Capital has hired David Simpson as a principal.
Prior to joining Shamrock Capital, Simpson was a principal at Providence Equity. There he helped lead a number of investments across the media, software and information services sectors. Before Providence Equity, Simpson was a vice president at Spectrum Equity where he focused on investments in the internet and software verticals.
Originally founded in 1978 as the family investment company for the late Roy E. Disney, Shamrock has evolved into an institutional money manager with top investors that include endowment and pension funds. According to the firm, it currently has about $2.5 billion of assets under management.
