Law firm Shearman & Sterling has hired Brien Wassner as an M&A partner. Previously, Wassner worked at Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy where he served as a corporate partner.
Shearman & Sterling announced today that Brien Wassner has joined the firm as an M&A partner in New York. Wassner comes to the firm from Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy where he was a corporate partner.
Wassner has extensive experience advising private equity sponsors, domestic and multinational privately held and publicly traded entities, hedge funds, venture capital funds and financial institutions on a wide range of corporate transactions and business combinations. These transactions include private equity investments, mergers, stock and asset acquisitions, going-private deals and joint ventures. He also regularly represents clients on debt and equity financing as well as general corporate and securities matters.

His recent transactions include the representation of leading private equity sponsors and financial and institutional investors in connection with investments in data center businesses, financial services and retail companies, and technology solution providers, as well as energy, infrastructure and transportation related assets.
