Sierra Ventures announced today that Jim Doehrman, longtime CFO and COO has joined the firm as their first Operating Partner. Doehrman is responsible for increasing portfolio companies’ value by delivering operational guidance and corporate development strategy to maximize company growth and profitability. Additionally, Doehrman will oversee Sierra Ventures’ finance, investor relations, back-office administration, and corporate marketing.

During his 30+ years as an operational and financial specialist, Doehrman has engineered scores of successful mergers, acquisitions, and debt and equity financing rounds yielding over $4B in value during his tenure at high-growth technology and media companies.

“We welcome Jim to fulfill the common need of operational excellence required by our rapidly-growing portfolio companies and our investors,” said Tim Guleri, Managing Director of Sierra Ventures. “Sierra Ventures’ portfolio companies are experiencing high growth, and this newly created Operating Partner position ensures continued service excellence and scalability.”

During Doehrman’s most recent CFO and SVP role at Xtime, he prepared the company’s back office for an IPO, and then engineered a $325M sale to Cox Automotive in November 2014. “I am excited to share my deep operational and financial experience with Sierra’s portfolio companies, so they each can scale and become the next great technology company,” said Doehrman. “I am also looking forward to providing direct guidance and continuing the implementation of repeatable programs around Sierra’s highly successful CXO Network.”
