Silver Lake buys minority stake in Red Ventures for $250 mln

Silver Lake Partners has invested $250 million in Fort Mill, SC-based Red Ventures, a marketing technology provider.

As a result of the funding, Silver Lake joins General Atlantic as a minority shareholder in Red Ventures. In addition to the investment, Greg Mondre, managing partner at Silver Lake, has been added to Red Ventures’ board of directors.

In addition to Silver Lake and General Atlantic, QED Investors is also another backer of Red Ventures. According to Crunchbase, the firm made an undisclosed investment in Red Ventures in 2011.

Founded in 2000, Red Ventures is led by CEO and co-founder Ric Elias. Among Red Ventures’ clients are DIRECTV, MetLife and Verizon.
