SitterCity Raises $22.6M From Baird Venture, New World, Others

SitterCity of Chicago raised $22.6 million in an expansion round led by Baird Venture Partners and New World Ventures, the venture arm of Chicago’s Pritkzer family. Also joining the financing was Apex Venture Partners, 12A and Point Judith Capital. The Web-based service matches mothers and other customers with caregivers, baby minders and pet sitters and has raised $30 million to date.

As a result of the new financing, Benedict Rocchio, a partner at Baird Venture, and Adam Koopersmith, a partner at New World Ventures, will join the board.

SitterCity has not issued a press release, but the funding was reported Wednesday morning by several news organizations, including the Chicago Tribune.
