Slideshow: Top 10 PE Fundraising Successes of 2011

As we home in on private equity winners and losers during 2011, the editors of sister magazine Buyouts wanted to give you a little snack from our big year-end issue, which comes out on Jan. 2, 2012.

Since it’s been a truly “special” year (imagine my best Casey Kasem voice), here’s a countdown of the year’s Top-10 biggest fundraising successes by U.S. buyout shops for 2011. Of course, the funds raised below come from final and interim closes only. Any other commitments you might have heard about won’t be listed here unless the money is included by a firm in a closing.

So, for all you GPs and LPs out there in private equity land, we won’t keep you waiting any longer. Here they are: the nation’s Top-10 private equity fundraising rankings, all the way from number 10 to the biggest fundraising success story in the country.

And, of course: Keep your feet on the ground and keep reaching for the stars…
