Sofield jumps to Vista Equity from SunTrust

Kevin Sofield has joined Vista Equity Partners as head of capital markets, officials confirmed on Tuesday.

Sofield officially joined Vista on Oct. 1, a source said. He previously worked at SunTrust Robinson Humphrey as an MD in the financial sponsors group.

Before SunTrust, Sofield spent more than a dozen years at Goldman Sachs, departing in 2012 from the role of head of the West Region Leveraged Finance group.

Sofield will be Vista’s point person on all financing activities for its portfolio companies, the person said. These can include refinancing, recaps or acquisition financings.

Earlier this week, Vista Equity said that its second Foundation Fund closed at $1.1 billion. The total includes $1 billion in commitments from limited partners, and a $100 million GP commitment, according to Robert Smith, chairman and chief executive officer of Vista Equity Partners.
