PRESS RELEASE

Spectrum Group Management LLC, an opportunistic alternative investment firm focused in the distressed, special situations and asset based credit markets, announced the appointment of Dee Trussell as Director of Business Development, and Steven LaDew as Director of Fund Accounting and Reporting. In his role, Trussell will be responsible for sales, marketing and investor relations initiatives with regard to Spectrum’s investment funds.  LaDew will be responsible for all finance, accounting and reporting matters for the funds.

“We are very excited to add Dee and Steve to the Spectrum team,” Spectrum’s Managing Partner, Jeffrey A. Schaffer said.  “The market and economic turbulence has provided great investment opportunities for our firm.  Adding additional experienced non-investment professionals is crucial to maintaining the high quality firm to which our investors have been accustomed. Dee and Steve each bring a unique set of skills and qualifications that make them strong additions to the growth and expansion of the firm.”

Trussell joins Spectrum from Credit Suisse’s Capital Services Group, where he was a Director responsible for raising capital for hedge funds and led the effort that focused on private and public pensions.  Prior to assuming that role, he was the US Head of Institutional Coverage, also at Credit Suisse, and managed a team that focused on securing exclusive lending mandates with private pensions, public funds, endowments and foundations within Prime Services.  Prior to joining Credit Suisse, Trussell was an Executive Director at Morgan Stanley within the Equity Financing Sales Group, where he worked closely with hedge funds and institutional investors.  He began his career at Bank of America in Dallas.  Trussell graduated from The University of Texas at Arlington.

LaDew joins Spectrum from Parish Capital Advisors, a registered investment advisor with approximately $2bb AUM, where he was Director of Finance, responsible for overseeing the operational due diligence, financial reporting, tax and performance measurement functions for the firm’s funds. Prior to joining Parish, LaDew was the Controller of Dune Capital Management, a $2.5bb AUM alternative investments firm, where he was involved in their credit hedge fund and real estate private equity strategies. Prior to Dune, LaDew spent six years at Goldman Sachs, where he worked in the Fixed Income Currency and Commodities Product Control area where he co-managed the Structured Investing and Electronic Commerce groups.  Previously he worked for Johnson & Johnson and Deloitte & Touche LLP. LaDew received a B.S. in Accounting from Wake Forest University.
