Square 1 Bank Appoints Silicon Valley Head

Square 1 Bank, a diversified financial services company, has appointed Sam Bhaumik as an executive vice president and head of Silicon Valley. Bhaumik will be a member of Square 1 Bank’s senior leadership team and brings more than 25 years of debt financing and investment experience.

Square 1 Bank, a diversified financial services company, today announced that Sam Bhaumik has joined the bank as an Executive Vice President and Head of Silicon Valley. Mr. Bhaumik will be a member of Square 1 Bank’s senior leadership team and brings more than 25 years of debt financing and investment experience.

Prior to joining Square 1 Bank on October 24, 2011, Mr. Bhaumik was Senior Managing Director – Technology Group Head with Hercules Technology Growth Capital (Nasdaq: HTGC) where he was part of the original team that took Hercules public in 2005 and committed over $2.0 billion to more than 170 venture backed technology and life sciences companies nationwide. Previously, Mr. Bhaumik spent two years as the New York Stock Exchange’s Vice President of the Western region. Prior to the NYSE, he was co-founder of the Emerging Growth Division at Imperial Bank (later acquired by Comerica). Mr. Bhaumik also served as a Vice President with Silicon Valley Bank’s Technology Group.
