Stealth Alert: TeeBeeDee

Friendster, Facebook and other social networking sites may be vying for teens and college-age users. But the older generations are perhaps the new target for the next generation of social media websites. Witness TeeBeeDee, an online destination for baby boomers that is still in stealth mode, which has raised $1.6 million of a Series A-2 financing. The names of the investors were not released.

The company was started by Robin Wolaner, the founder and CEO of Parenting Magazine and former executive vice president of CNET Networks. Wolaner is also the author of “Naked in the Boardroom: A CEO Bares Her Secrets So You Can Transform Your Career,” published in 2005.
