Stephen Green Joins Bridgepoint, John Davison Leaves

Stephen Green has joined European private equity firm Bridgepoint as a partner. He will serve as head of the European private equity firm’s financial services team, succeeding six-year vet John Davison who is leaving “to pursue other interests.” Green previously led the global financial and business services team for Apax Partners.

Private equity firm Bridgepoint today, 16 June 2009, named Stephen Green as partner and head of its European financial services sector team in succession to John Davison who is leaving Bridgepoint to pursue other interests after six years with the firm. Mr Green begins his duties on 1 September.

“Stephen is an important addition to our investment team and his experience and knowledge of the financial services sector will be especially relevant as Bridgepoint seeks to identify the best investment opportunities across Europe” said William Jackson, managing partner, Bridgepoint.

Stephen Green joined Apax Partners Worldwide in 1997, became a partner in 2000 when he was appointed head of its global financial and business services team. In 2003 he was also appointed a member of Apax’s Approval Committee. He subsequently retired from Apax in March 2008. Prior to that he had worked in the MBO advisory business of PriceWaterhouseCoopers.

He is a graduate of Exeter University and a qualified chartered accountant.

In November 2008, Bridgepoint’s latest fund, Bridgepoint Europe IV, closed in excess of €4.8 billion.
