Jonathan Bixby, co-founder and former CEO of Strangeloop Networks Inc, will become the new executive director of Canadian startup accelerator GrowLab on November 1st. Bixby led the Vancouver-based Stangeloop, a provider of web content optimization solutions, from the company’s formation in 2006 until its acquisition by Radware Ltd in February 2013. Bixby replaces Mike Edwards, who was GrowLab’s executive director for the past two years. GrowLab’s portfolio companies have collectively raised over $7 million in funding to date.
GrowLab Welcomes Jonathan Bixby as the New Executive Director
We are excited to announce that Jonathan Bixby will be GrowLab’s new Executive Director starting on November 1, 2013. Jo nathan is a successful serial entrepreneur who is passionate about to help those who are taking the entrepreneurial path to start, build and grow companies.
Jonathan has two successful exits under his belt,including most recently co-founding and leading Strangeloop Networks to exit, while maintaining the title of Best Employer in British Columbia for five consecutive years. In regards to his new post, Jonathan says:
“I am very excited to join the GrowLab family. We have all of the tools we need: Geographical advantage of being in Vancouver, strong links to Silicon Valley and an amazing group of engaged founders, mentors and alumni. My goal as the Executive Director is simple; to take these pieces and use them to over deliver each and every day for our cohort companies.”
After leading GrowLab for almost two years, Mike Edwards is passing on the torch to Jonathan. But fear not because he will still with be a part of the team. Mike will now take his expertise and vision to the GrowLab Board. Mike shares:

To date, GrowLab companies have collectively raised over $7M in funding after Demo Day.
