Symmetry Partners LLC has hired Timothy Baker as director of product strategy. Previously, Baker worked at BlackRock. The investment adviser has also added Eric Krusiewicz as senior investment strategist; and Bob Matala, Michael Jordan and Nathaniel Poole as regional business consultants.

GLASTONBURY, CT–(Marketwired – September 13, 2016) – Symmetry Partners, LLC (Symmetry), a turnkey asset management and business solutions firm based in Glastonbury, Conn., announced that it has hired former BlackRock director, Timothy Baker, CFA® as Director of Product Strategy. In his new role, he will be responsible for overseeing Symmetry’s entire product suite, with a current focus on developing the firm’s next generation of factor-based ETF models.
The new hire comes at a time of rapid growth for Symmetry. The expansion includes the hiring of 14 employees company-wide since January 2015 — a 16% total increase. In addition to its new hires, the firm recently unveiled its new headquarters in Glastonbury, CT, which is set to hold up to 200 team members.
The firm has also expanded its relationships with both regional and national banks and added to its team of dedicated wholesalers to work exclusively with its banking partners. As part of his new role, Baker will help educate advisors and investors on these new initiatives, including the firm’s foray into alternatives.
In Baker’s time at BlackRock, he was responsible for the promotion of smart beta/factor investing in the US across institutional and retail channels, as well as the promotion of the Global Equity product suite across all of the Americas for institutional and retail channels. Baker received a bachelor of arts in political science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Another exciting addition to the Symmetry team is Eric Krusiewicz, CFA®, who will assume the role of Senior Investment Strategist after having spent much of his career in private equity, most recently at Colonial Consulting LLC. Krusiewicz will work with Symmetry’s research and sales departments to communicate investment strategy. Krusiewicz held positions at Bear Stearns, Knight Capital, Madison Harbor and Cambridge Associates. He graduated with a degree in finance from Providence College.
Bob Matala, CIMA® joins the firm as Regional Business Consultant where he will support the business growth needs of financial advisors throughout the Southeast region. He previously served as vice president and regional wealth consultant at Envestnet. Matala graduated from the University of South Florida with a bachelor of science in business administration.
Nathaniel Poole, CFS® joins Symmetry as Regional Business Consultant where he will support the business growth needs of financial advisors throughout the Central region. Previously, Poole was a hybrid wholesaler at Jackson National Life, an insurance company offering annuities for retail investors and fixed income products for institutional investors. Poole received a bachelor of arts in public relations and speech communications from Fort Hays State University.
Michael Jordan, CFP®, CIMA®, CFS® joins Symmetry as a Regional Business Consultant, where he will support the business growth needs of financial advisors throughout New England. Previously, Jordan was regional vice president for Jackson National Life. Jordan received a bachelor of arts in economics from Ohio Wesleyan University.
