Tad Flynn has joined Houlihan Lokey as managing director of corporate finance. He previously was with UBS as head of the Alternative Capital Markets Group.
Houlihan Lokey, an international investment bank, today announced that it has hired Terence “Tad” Flynn as a Managing Director of Corporate Finance where he will co-head the Financing Group and focus on structured private placements for public and private companies, as well as capital markets advisory work. Mr. Flynn joins from UBS Investment Bank where he was head of the Alternative Capital Markets Group. He will report to Scott Adelson and Bob Hotz, Global Co-Heads of Investment Banking, and he is based in the New York office.
Commenting on the hire, Mr. Hotz said, “Given constraints in the marketplace, fewer deals are being executed. Now more than ever, having the right financing professional on your team can be a critical component of a successful deal. Tad’s experience in private placements and vast knowledge of equity capital markets, particularly in structured products, as well as his industry expertise is a perfect fit for our platform. We are excited to have him join our financing effort.”
Mr. Flynn added, “I’m excited to be joining Houlihan Lokey and its entrepreneurial, partnership- oriented investment banking platform. The Houlihan Lokey team has built a dynamic business with leadership presence in M&A, restructuring and financial advisory. It has an unparalleled reach and a unique relationship with the alternative asset management community. It is exciting to be able to focus exclusively on the needs of our clients without the conflicts that arise when one is a capital provider to those clients.”
While at UBS, Mr. Flynn was also responsible for the equity capital markets origination efforts in the financial institutions, industrials, telecom and media industries. Prior to that, he was responsible for origination and execution of equity derivative and select liability management products. Prior to joining UBS, Mr. Flynn was founder and CEO of Phoenix Media Group, a new media music company. A 25-year veteran of Wall Street, he also held a variety of capital markets, derivatives, and corporate finance positions at Bear Stearns International, Salomon Brothers and Bankers Trust. Mr. Flynn graduated with honors in economics from Harvard College.
