Albion invests in Radnor House School

Albion Ventures LLP has made an investment of up to 9.5 million pounds in Radnor House School, a South West London-based co-ed school for students ages seven to 18. According to the venture firm, the capital infusion will be used to support Radnor’s acquisition of Combe Bank School, a co-ed school for students ages three to 18 near Kent.


Albion Ventures leads funding round for Exco

Exco InTouch has received 3.2 million pounds in funding. Albion Ventures led the round with participation from Scottish Equity Partners. Based in the UK, Exco is a provider of patient engagement solutions.

Albion Ventures backs new residential care homes

UK-based Albion Ventures has invested in the development of two purpose-built residential care homes for the elderly. The new facilities will be located in Cumnor Hill, Oxford and Hillingdon, Greater London and will cater for a total of 130 elderly residents, providing hotel style accommodation including a bistro, private dining room, library and spa.


Mirada Medical secures funding for expansion

Mirada Medical, a software product that helps doctors use medical images to diagnose and treat cancer, has received additional funding to accelerate the company’s growth plans. UK-based Albion Ventures is backing the company.

Ad tech firm Grapeshot grabs $3.3 mln from Albion Ventures

Grapeshot said Friday that it has secured $3.3 million from Albion Ventures. In conjunction with the funding, Robert Whitby-Smith, a partner at Albion Ventures, has been added to Grapeshot’s board of directors. Based in New York and London, Grapeshot is an ad tech firm that provides keyword contextual targeting solutions.

UK’s PayasUgym secures funds led by Albion and MMC Ventures

UK-based fitness network PayasUgym has secured a funding round which has been led by Albion Ventures and MMC Ventures. This investment comes two weeks after PayasUgym announced the recruitment of hungryhouse.co.uk chief marketing officer, Graeme Horne, who has joined the management team.

Albion Ventures backs Green Highland Renewables

UK venture firm Albion Ventures has invested in partnership with Perth-based developer, Green Highland Renewables to fund the development of a single 2MW hydropower scheme on the Allt A’Chonais, close to Loch Carron in the Scottish Highlands.

Albion Ventures backs Cisiv

UK-based Albion Ventures has backed Cisiv, a healthcare Software as a Service company, which provides web-based solutions for data capture and management in long-term studies on the safety, cost and benefit of licensed medicines. This is Albion’s fourth investment in healthcare IT and the third this year.

Albion Ventures has backed UK-based Relayware, a global provider of B2B collaboration and multi-channel communication solutions. The investment will enable Relayware to accelerate its growth and extend its lead in technological innovation.

DySIS Medical Inks More Funds

DySIS Medical Ltd, a medical devices company active within women’s health, has completed a 7.4 million pounds fundraising ($11.3 million). Lundbeckfond Ventures, Albion Ventures, NBGI and the Scottish Investment Bank (SIB), the investment arm of Scottish Enterprise all participated in the round.

Albion Ventures Invests in MyMeds&Me

UK-based Albion Ventures has invested up to 2 million pounds ($3 million) in MyMeds&Me, a healthcare software as a service company. MyMeds&Me was established in 2011 by three senior pharmaceutical industry executives, Stephen Powell, Andrew Rut and Trevor Gibbs.

City Screen Sold to Cineworld

City Screen, a UK-based art-house cinema operator has been sold to Cineworld in a deal valuing the company at 47.3 million pounds ($75.9 million). Independent investment banking firm Livingstone’s consumer sector team advised the City Screen management team and private equity investors Arts Alliance and Albion Ventures on the sale.

Xceleron Attracts Existing investors for Further Funds

Xceleron, a company which accelerates drug development using ultra-sensitive bioanalytical analyses, has attracted existing investors Albion Ventures and Solon Ventures to invest $2.4MM to locate all of the company’s business in its custom-built facility in Germantown, MD. Albion Sells Historic Hotel

Albion Ventures has sold The Place Sandwich VCT Limited, the owner and operator of the 37-bedroom Bell Hotel in the medieval Cinque Port town of Sandwich, UK to Shepherd Neame Limited, Britain’s oldest brewer, for 3.6 million pounds. Funds managed or advised by Albion Ventures backed the acquisition of the historic hotel in January 2005, when a total of 3.1 million pounds was been invested.
