Sikka Software fetches $5.5 mln

Milpitas, California-based Sikka Software, a retail healthcare cloud platform, has closed $5.5 million in Series B funding. Sierra Ventures led the round with participation from previous backer ATA Ventures. In addition to the funding, Mark Fernandes of Sierra Ventures has been added to Sikka Software’s board of directors.

Lavante raises $3.5 mln

Lavante has raised a $3.5 million round of investment led by PointGuard Ventures. Prior investors SAP Ventures and ATA Ventures also participated in the financing. San Jose-based Lavante provides on-demand SIM (Supplier Information Management) and profit recovery solutions.


Altierre grabs over $21 mln

Altierre Corp. has raised more than $21 million in financing. Stratim Capital and D.E. Shaw & Co. led the round with participation from previous backers ATA Ventures, DuPont Capital Management, Labrador Ventures and Kinetic Ventures. According to the firm, the capital infusion will be used for growth. Headquartered in San Jose, Calif., Altierre is a provider of wireless technology for the internet of things.

Sequoia, USVP Back Clustrix With Series C

Clustrix, a San Francisco-based developer of clustered databases to help make them manageable and searchable, has raised a $16.5 million Series C round of funding from current investors Sequoia Capital, U.S. Venture Partners, ATA Ventures and individual investor Don Listwin, a former executive of Cisco. The company, which was founded in late 2005 and came out of Y Combinator, has raised now raised $46.5 million to date.

Givit Launches Video App for iPhone

Givit has launched a free app offering the easiest way for users to create personal video highlight reels on iPhone. Backed by ATA Ventures and JK&B Ventures, the company is based in San Diego, CA.

YottaMark Raises $24M From Westbury, Fairhaven, ATA, Thomvest, Granite

YottaMark Inc. said it raised $24 million in a Series D round led by Westbury Partners and joined by new investor Fairhaven Capital. Shocking Technologies Inc., a maker of polymer nano-composite for protecting electronic products from electrostatic discharge, has raised $15.2 million from publicly traded Littelfuse Inc., Arch Ventures, ATA Ventures, Balch Hill Capital, Skylake Incuvest, Vista Ventures and other undisclosed investors. The San Jose, Calif.-based company will use the round to expand its capacity and infrastructure.

Zoosk Eyes New Funding Round

Zoosk is looking to attract investors in a new round of financing for the fast-growing online dating website.The San Francisco-based company recently hired Deutsche Bank to help it raise $50 million to $75 million, according to two people familiar with the effort. Clustrix Raises $12M Series B

San Francisco-based Clustrix, which develops clustered database systems for Internet-based applications, has raised $12 million in Series B financing. Menlo Park, Calif.-based firms U.S. Venture Partners and Sequoia Capital, along with Redwood City, Calif.-based ATA Ventures, participated pro-rata in this round, bringing the company’s total financing to $30 million.

Lavante Raised $8M in Series C Round

Lavante, which develops technology for on-demand recovery auditing and supplier information management, has raised $8 million in Series C financing. SAP Ventures led the round, which included participation from ATA Ventures and Venrock. As a result of the round, SAP Ventures’ Andreas Weiskam has joined Lavante’s board.

uCirrus Inks $4 Million Financing Round

San Mateo, Calif.-based uCirrus, which develops enterprise operating software, has raised $4 million in a round led by Menlo Park, Calif.-based SK Telecom Ventures. Qualcomm Ventures and ATA Ventures also invested in the round. SK Telecom Ventures’ Rob Trice, ATA’s Mike Hodges and Qualcomm’s Jack Young will join uCirrrus’ board of directors as a result of the funding.
