Montage Talent, a provider of video interviewing solutions, has received a $4 million investment. The round was led by existing investors Baird Venture Partners, GCI and Calumet Venture Fund, and included participation from new investors The State of Wisconsin Investment Board and Foley Ventures.

Baird Venture Partners and aeris CAPITAL co-led a Series A round for molecular diagnostic company GenomeDx Biosciences Inc. CD Ventures and individual investors also participated in the financing round. The size of the round was not disclosed. GenomeDx develops molecular diagnostic tests and clinical support tools for cancer medicine.

High Street Partners Seals $6.3M Series C

Business services company High Street Partners has closed on $6.3 million in Series C financing led by Baird Venture Partners. Investors Sigma Partners and Gold Hill Capital also participated in the round. The money will help High Street Partners to continue to build out its software-as-a-service. Benedict Rocchio, partner at Baird Venture Partners, will join the High Street Board.

Baird, VantagePoint Back EDO Interactive with Series B–UPDATED

Advertising technology start-up EDO Interactive has closed on an undisclosed amount of Series B financing co-led by Baird Venture Partners and VantagePoint Capital Partners. The money will help EDO expand its sales, technology and analytics staff. As part of the round, BVP partner Benedict Rocchio and VantagePoint managing director Tom Bevilacqua will join the company’s board. William Blair & Co. assisted EDO with the fundraising. The terms of the deal were not disclosed.

MIR Acquisition Seals $7M in Series A Financing

Ann Arbor-based MIR Acquisition, which operates as Molecular Imaging Research Inc., has closed on $7 million in Series A venture financing. Baird Venture Partners and Arcus Ventures co-led the round, which is designed to help MIR expand and commercialize its technology. The company specializes in the in vivo preclinical imaging of small animals, technology used by pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical devices companies.

Core Essence Orthopaedics Inks $11.5M

Fort Washington, Penn.-based Core Essence Orthopaedics Inc., which develops orthopedic devices, has raised $11.5 million in Series B financing. Baird Venture Partners led the round, joined by investors NewSpring Health Capital, Robin Hood Ventures and unnamed individual investors. The new round brings the total raised to $16.5 million and will help the company commercialize its soft tissue and skeletal repair devices. As a result of the round, Baird Partner Pete Shagory will join Core Essence’s board. Nabs $27M in Series C, the provider of an online community of hourly workers, has raised $27 million new financing. August Capital led the Series C round. Existing shareholders Adams Street Partners, Baird Venture Partners and C&B Capital also participated in the round. Coalfire Systems Seals $5M Series A

Louisville, Colo.-based Coalfire Systems has raised $5 million in Series A financing from Baird Venture Partners. Coalfire develops audit and compliance management services for small and mid-sized businesses. The new financing will help the company with continued development and growth. Baird Venture Partners is the U.S.-based venture fund of Baird Private Equity.

Baird Exits Investment in Accuri Cytometers

Venture capital fund Baird Venture Partners has exited its investment in Accuri Cytometers, selling the company to Becton, Dickinson and Company. Financial terms of the deal were not released. The deal is expected to close in the second quarter of 2011. Ann Arbor, Mich.-based Accuri has raised upwards of $32 million from investors. Baird led the company’s Series B financing round for Accuri in May 2007 and participated in subsequent financing rounds.

Hologic Buys Interlace Medical for $125 Mln

Interlace Medical, which was backed by Baird Venture Partners, has been sold to Hologic for $125 million. Additional earn-out payments can take place over the next two years, a statement said. Framingham, Mass.-based Interlace is a medical device company that has developed the MyoSure, which is used to remove intrauterine fibroids and polyps. Interlace received $20.5 million in Series C financing in 2009 from investors including BVP, Spray Venture Partners and New Leaf Venture Partners. Baird Venture Partners is the U.S. VC fund of Baird Private Equity.
