San Francisco-based Sun Basket, a new entrant in the bustling meal kit delivery service sector that includes many well-funded competitors, announced it has raised $4.5 million in its first institutional round of funding. PivotNorth Capital and Baseline Ventures coled the round, which also includes Vulcan Capital, Roth Capital, The Florence Group, Rembrandt Ventures, Correlation Ventures, Relevance Capital, Lucas Venture Group and others, including a number of individual investors.

Cloud startup Iron.io raises $8 mln

San Francisco-based Iron.io, a provider of cloud infrastructure services,  has raised an $8 million Series A round of funding. Baseline Ventures led the round and was joined by fellow existing investors Bain Capital Ventures, Divergent Ventures, Ignition Partners and Cloud Capital Partners. The company previously raised $5.5 million in seed funding, including from individuals Jonathan Siegel, Matt Ocko, Jared Kopf and Lance White, among others.

API development startup Apiary raises $6.8 mln

San Francisco-based Apiary, which provides API development tools, announced it has raised a $6.8 million Series A round of funding led by Flybridge Capital Partners. Baseline Ventures and Credo Ventures also participated in the round. As part of the funding, David Aronoff, general partner at Flybridge, has joined the board. The company, founded in Prague, capital of the Czech Republic, in 2011 and maintains its co-headquarters there, has now raised $8.4 million in total funding.

Digit has raised $2.5 million in seed funding, the firm announced in a blog post on its site. Baseline Ventures led the round with participation from other investors that included Freestyle Capital, Upside Partnership, Google Ventures, Operative Capital, Garry Tan and Alexis Ohanian. Also, Digit has named Dan Manges, Randy Reddig, Sharda Caro-del-Castillo and Tom Brown as advisors. Based in San Francisco, Digit is a service that automates people’s savings. BVP leads Series B round for PagerDuty

PagerDuty, a San Francisco-based provider of operations performance management solutions, said Thursday that it has closed $27.2 million in Series B funding. Bessemer Venture Partners led the round with participation from return backers Andreessen Horowitz, Baseline Ventures and Harrison Metal. In addition to the funding, Trevor Oelschig, a partner at Bessemer Venture Partners, has been added to PagerDuty’s board of directors.

Career-building company Gild raises Series B

San Francisco-based Gild, which uses predictive technology to provide career counseling services, has raised $13.5 million in Series B funding. The round was led by new investor Menlo Ventures and included Draper Nexus and existing investors Baseline Ventures, Globespan Capital Partners, SAP Ventures, Correlation Ventures and Mark Kvamme of Drive Capital. The company has now raised $27 million since it was launched in 2012.
