API development startup Apiary raises $6.8 mln

San Francisco-based Apiary, which provides API development tools, announced it has raised a $6.8 million Series A round of funding led by Flybridge Capital Partners. Baseline Ventures and Credo Ventures also participated in the round. As part of the funding, David Aronoff, general partner at Flybridge, has joined the board. The company, founded in Prague, capital of the Czech Republic, in 2011 and maintains its co-headquarters there, has now raised $8.4 million in total funding.

Front Row Education nabs $5.3 mln Series A

Front Row Education Inc, a math education program provider for K-8 students, has secured $5.3 million in Series A funding. Amasia led the round with participation from other investors that included Harrison Metal and Baseline Ventures.

VC-backed PagerDuty hires engineering VP

PagerDuty, a San Francisco-based provider of operations performance management solutions, has appointed Tim Armandpour as vice president of engineering. Previously, Armandpour worked at YapStone where he served as senior vice president of engineering and product. PagerDuty’s backers include Andreessen Horowitz, Bessemer Venture Partners, Baseline Ventures and Ignition Partners.

Fintech startup Digit raises $11.3 mln, General Catalyst leads

Digit, a San Francisco-based provider of an automated savings tool for consumers, announced it has raised a $11.3 million Series A round. General Catalyst Partners led the round, which included existing investors Baseline Ventures and Google Ventures. Hans Morris, former president of Visa, and other individual investors also participated in the funding. The company has now raised $13.8 million in total funding.

San Francisco-based telemedicine provider Spruce has raised a $15 million Series A round of funding from Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, Google Ventures, Baseline Ventures and Cowboy Ventures. The company previously raised $2 million in seed funding.

San Francisco savings start-up Digit nabs $2.5 mln

Digit has raised $2.5 million in seed funding, the firm announced in a blog post on its site. Baseline Ventures led the round with participation from other investors that included Freestyle Capital, Upside Partnership, Google Ventures, Operative Capital, Garry Tan and Alexis Ohanian. Also, Digit has named Dan Manges, Randy Reddig, Sharda Caro-del-Castillo and Tom Brown as advisors. Based in San Francisco, Digit is a service that automates people’s savings. Email marketing startup Sendwithus bags $2.3 mln

According to a blog post on its site, Sendwithus has raised $2.3 million in funding. Steve Anderson of Baseline Ventures led the round with participation from other investors that included Initialized Capital, SV Angel, Maiden Lane and Acequia Capital. BVP leads Series B round for PagerDuty

PagerDuty, a San Francisco-based provider of operations performance management solutions, said Thursday that it has closed $27.2 million in Series B funding. Bessemer Venture Partners led the round with participation from return backers Andreessen Horowitz, Baseline Ventures and Harrison Metal. In addition to the funding, Trevor Oelschig, a partner at Bessemer Venture Partners, has been added to PagerDuty’s board of directors.

Norwest Venture Partners leads Series B round for Threadflip

Threadflip said Wednesday that it has raised $13 million in Series B funding. Norwest Venture Partners led the round with participation from previous backers Baseline Ventures, First Round Capital and Shasta Ventures. Based in San Francisco, Threadflip is a fashion marketplace for women.

Career-building company Gild raises Series B

San Francisco-based Gild, which uses predictive technology to provide career counseling services, has raised $13.5 million in Series B funding. The round was led by new investor Menlo Ventures and included Draper Nexus and existing investors Baseline Ventures, Globespan Capital Partners, SAP Ventures, Correlation Ventures and Mark Kvamme of Drive Capital. The company has now raised $27 million since it was launched in 2012.

Piqora closes Series A

Piqora, a marketing and analytics business for visual social networks Pinterest, Instagram and Tumblr, among others, has closed a Series A investment of $7.7 million led by DFJ. Freestyle Capital, Baseline Ventures, Lazerow Ventures, Firebolt Ventures and Altos Ventures also participated, bringing total financing to over $11 million to date.

Apiary secures $1.6m funding

Apiary, an API design platform company, has secured $1.63 million in seed funding led by Flybridge Capital Partners and Baseline Ventures. The funding will be used to expand the company’s engineering division to keep up with rising customer demand.

Gild Appoints to Advisory Board

Gild has appointed Steve Cadigan to its advisory board. Cadigan is former VP of Talent at LinkedIn and current advisor at Cadigan Ventures to the Gild Advisory Board. Launched in 2011, Gild is backed by Globespan Capital Partners and Baseline Ventures, and is headquartered in San Francisco, CA.
