MuleSoft racks up $128 mln

MuleSoft, a platform provider that helps businesses with connectivity, has secured $128 million in funding. Salesforce Ventures led the round with participation from other investors that included ServiceNow, Cisco Investments, Adage Capital Management, Brookside Capital, Sands Capital Ventures, New Enterprise Associates, Lightspeed Venture Partners, Meritech Capital Partners, Bay Partners and Hummer Winblad Venture Partners. Goldman, Sachs & Co was the placement agent for the transaction.


Interactive Brokers to buy VC-backed Covestor

Interactive Brokers has agreed to acquire online investing marketplace Covestor. No financial terms were disclosed. Covestor’s backers included Union Square Ventures,Spark Capital, Amadeus Capital and Bay Partners.

Software developer Apigee Corp files for IPO-Reuters

Apigee Corp, a developer of software to manage Web applications, has filed with U.S. regulators for an initial public offering, looking to take advantage of interest in companies that offer Internet-related services, Reuters reported.


AdStage nabs $6.25 mln Series A

Ad tech startup AdStage has closed $6.25 million in Series A funding. The investors were Verizon Ventures, Digital Garage, Newbury Ventures, Freestyle Capital, Chris Noble and Neal Dempsey of Bay Partners.


API company Apigee raises $60 mln from Pine River, Wellington, others

Apigee, which makes software for companies to manage application programming interfaces (APIs), announced this morning that it has raised $60 million from new investors Pine River Capital Management and Wellington Management Co, as well as prior investors. The San Jose, Calif.-based company said it has raised $171 million to date. The valuation for the new round was undisclosed. Just four months ago Apigee raised $20.5 million at a post-money valuation of $414.03 million from Bay Partners, Norwest Venture Partners and Third Point, according to Thomson Reuters (publisher of peHUB). Apigee’s other investors include AccentureBlackRock-managed funds, Focus Ventures and SAP Ventures.


MuleSoft raises $50 mln

San Francisco-based MuleSoft announced today that it has raised a $50 million round that was led by existing investors New Enterprise Associates and Lightspeed Venture Partners as well as new investor Meritech Capital Partners. Also participating in the round are Cisco, Salesforce, SAP Ventures, Hummer Winblad Venture Partners, Canvas Venture Fund and Bay Partners. The company has now raised $131 million in total funding.

NEA Leads $37M Round in MuleSoft

MuleSoft, which provides enterprises with a cloud-based platform to integrate its mobile and on-premise data and applications, has raised $37 million in new funding. New Enterprise Associates lead the round, with participation from Salesforce.com, as well as returning investors Hummer Winblad Venture Partners, Morgenthaler Ventures, Lightspeed Venture Partners, SAP Ventures and Bay Partners. The company has now raised about $81 million in capital since 2006.

Zenprise Appoints President and CEO

Zenprise, a secure mobile device management provider, has appointed Amit Pandey as president and chief executive officer, effective immediately. The company raised $30 million growth financing in October last year. The round, led by Greylock Partners, also included participation from existing shareholders Rembrandt Venture Partners, Ignition Partners, Bay Partners, Mayfield and Shasta Ventures. California-based gift card exchange Plastic Jungle received a strategic investment from Citi Ventures, the unit of listed financial services firm Citigroup. Specifics of the transaction were not publicized. Apigee Corp., a maker of API products and technology for developers and companies, has added $7 million in fresh capital, according to a regulatory filing. The company is backed by Norwest Venture Partners, Bay Partners, SAP Ventures, Juniper Networks, Net One Systems and Third Point Management Company. The company, previously known as Sonoa Systems, is based in Palo Alto, Calif.

Greylock Leads $30M Round for Zenprise

Zenprise Inc. has raised $30 million in new financing led by Greylock Partners. The round, which included participation from existing shareholders Rembrandt Venture Partners, Ignition Partners, Bay Partners, Mayfield and Shasta Ventures, will be used for growth. Zenprise, a maker of mobile device management software, aims to bolders its product development, sales and marketing efforts. Zenprise also announced that Asheem Chandna of Greylock has been named to the board.
