Fuze racks up $112 mln in Summit Partners-led round

Summit Partners has led a $112 million funding round for Cambridge, Massachusetts-based Fuze, a unified communications platform provider. Other investors were Bessemer Venture Partners and Technology Crossover Ventures. In addition to this funding, Bruce Evans, a managing director at Summit, has been added to Fuze’s board of directors.

Vidyard picks up $35 mln in Battery Ventures-led round

Canada-based Vidyard, a video platform that helps businesses, has raised $35 million in Series C funding. Battery Ventures led the round with participation from return backers Bessemer Venture Partners, Salesforce Ventures, OMERS Ventures, iNovia Capital and SoftTech VC. In conjunction with the funding, Michael Brown, a general partner at Battery Ventures, has been added to Vidyard’s board of directors.

Bessemer leads funding of SmashFly

Concord, Mass.-based SmashFly Technologies, provider of a recruitment marketing platform, has raised $22 million in Series B funding led by Bessemer Venture Partners. Existing investor OpenView Venture Partners also participated in the round, which brings the company’s total funding to $31 million. As part of the Series B round, Bob Goodman, partner at Bessemer, has joined the company board.

Customer success company Gainsight has raised $50 million in Series D funding. Insight Venture Partners led the round. The company’s other investors include Battery Ventures, Bain Capital Ventures, Bessemer Venture Partners, Salesforce Ventures, Summit Partners and Lightspeed Venture Partners. In addition to the funding, Gainsight has hired Andy Knosp as vice president of professional services. Previously, Knosp was vice president of professional services at Hortonworks.

Tel Aviv-based illusive networks, a cyber security company focused on targeted attacks, announced it has raised a $22 million Series B round of funding led by new investor New Enterprise Associates. Also participating in the round are new and existing investors Bessemer Venture Partners, Marker LLC, Citi Ventures and Eric Schmidt’s Innovation Endeavors. The company earlier this year raised $5 million in a Series A round. Kittu Kolluri, general partner at NEA, has joined the board as part of the latest funding.

The investors included Newmark Grubb Knight Frank Corp; Barry Sternlicht, CEO of Starwood Capital; and Bill Rudin, CEO of Rudin Management Company. Among Hightower’s previous backers are Bessemer Venture Partners, Thrive Capital and RRE Ventures.
