Alliance Laundry has closed its buy of Primus Group. No financial terms were disclosed. BMO Capital Markets advised Alliance Laundry on the transaction. Alliance Laundry is an indirect subsidiary of ALH Holding, a portfolio company of the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan managed by Teachers’ Private Capital. Wynnchurch Capital has acquired Imperial Group from Accuride Corp. BMO Mezzanine Fund and a management team led by CEO Terry Wogan also invested. Financial terms were not disclosed. Madison Dearborn Partners said Monday it has agreed to invest in Aderant Holdings. The sellers are Vista Equity Partners and company management, which will retain “significant” ownership positions. Financial terms weren’t announced. MDP is buying about half of Vista Equity’s and Aderant management’s stakes, the statement says. Atlanta-based Aderant provides business management software for law and professional services firms. A team of ex-Houlihan Lokey bankers have started their own firm to advise growth companies in the Washington D.C. area.
The executives, all from Houlihan’s business services group, formed Clearsight Advisors in July, says Joel Kallett, who is the firm’s co-founder and MD. Kallett is joined at Clearsight by Greg Treger, also a co-founder and MD; Bhavin Patel, a vice president; and, Bethany Seidler, director of administration.
Clearsight, based in McLean, Va., will target growth companies in technology and services with $25 million to $200 million in enterprise value, says Kallett.Continue

Taking advantage of a strengthening stock market and a lending market where many borrowers struggle to find financing, several business development companies (BDCs) are taking steps to fortify their financial positions.
BDCs are closed-end investment funds that are publicly traded on stock exchanges. Designed to provide capital to privately owned businesses, they can provide both equity and debt financing.
Healthier BDCs, led by Ares Capital Corp., are issuing stock and reducing their debt, while other such lenders, including American Capital Ltd., are taking other steps to shore up their capital positions.Continue

Barrymore, former head of the food and beverage group at BMO Capital Markets, co-founded 6Pacific Partners just as Wall Street was imploding. The goal was to provide M&A advisory services and equity capital (between $1m-$5m) to companies in the food, beverage, nutrition and consumer space. And there was plenty of work.
“When we started there weren’t many other boutiques, because people were making so much money at big banks,” Barrymore explained. “[Plus], no one has an advisory business focused on large consumer companies combined with an equity vehicle focused on small companies.”Continue
