Camden Partners leads $22.5 mln round for Steelwedge

Pleasanton, California-based Steelwedge, a provider of cloud supply chain planning solutions, has raised $22.5 million in funding. Camden Partners led the round with participation from other investors that included Mainsail Partners and Shea Ventures.


PE-backed Bluefin Payment Systems attracts funding

Bluefin Payment Systems has received an undisclosed amount of debt and equity funding. Goldman Sachs Specialty Lending Group led the round. Bluefin’s existing backers are Financial Partners, the private equity arm of Napier Park Global Group and Camden Partners. Headquartered in Atlanta, Bluefin is a provider of secure payment technology for businesses.


Paragon Bioservices pulls in $13 mln Series A

Paragon Bioservices has closed $13 million in Series A financing. NewSpring Capital and Camden Partners led the round. Evergreen Advisors and 1st BridgeHouse Securities served as advisors to Paragon. Based in Baltimore, Paragon is a contract research and manufacturer focused on biopharmaceuticals and vaccines.


Camden Partners leads Series A round for LifeNexus

LifeNexus has received an undisclosed amount of Series A funding. Camden Partners led the round with participation from Cambia Health Solutions and Mosaic Health Solutions. Based in San Francisco, LifeNexus is a healthcare tech firm and creator of iChip technology.

BlueCross BlueShield Joins in $70M Essence Round

BlueCross BlueShield Venture Partners, managed by Sandbox Industries, has joined venture investors Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers and Camden Partners in a $70 million investment in Essence Group Holdings Corp. In July, Essence Group, which provide collaboration, reimbursement, clinical informatics and information technology services for healthcare companies, announced a $61 million infusion from Camden Partners and Kleiner Perkins. Most of the new capital will be invested in EGHC’s subsidiary Lumeris Corp., which is focused on software and services for accountable health care delivery systems.

Camden Partners’ Kersey to JH Medicine Board

Camden Partners, the Baltimore, Md.-based private equity firm, announced Thursday its managing member Christopher Kersey will join the Johns Hopkins Medicine International Board as Chairman. Johns Hopkins Medicine International is the global development arm of Johns Hopkins Medicine.

Shane Ho Kim, a managing member of growth equity firm Camden Partners, has joined the board of publicly traded Planet Payment. The company provides international multi-currency payment and data processing services. At Camden Partners, Kim focuses on payments and transaction processing investments within the business services and healthcare sectors. Planet Payment is headquartered in New York.

NewSpring, Camden Recap MinSec

MinSec Holdings Inc., a Wallingford, Penn.-based operator of community correctional facilities, outpatient programs and behavioral health treatment facilities, has raised an undisclosed amount of private equity and subordinated debt funding from Camden Partners and NewSpring Capital. The deal is structured as a recapitalization.

IncentOne Sells Certain Assets to Augeo Affinity

IncentOne, a Lyndhurst, N.J.-based provider of incentive solutions in the healthcare and green energy spaces, has sold its performance and loyalty business to Augeo Incent, a subsidiary of Augeo Affinity Marketing. No financial terms were disclosed. IncentOne last year raised an undisclosed amount of equity funding from Camden Partners.
