Monroe Capital provides financing to Pure Barre

Monroe Capital said Thursday it has provided a loan to support the investment in Pure Barre by an unnamed private equity firm. Financial terms weren’t announced. In May, Catterton Partners made a “significant’ growth investment in Pure Barre, which provides fitness classes that are mix of ballet, pilates and resistance training.

Catterton has made a “significant” growth investment in Pure Barre. Financial terms weren’t announced. WJ Partners, which invested in 2012, will remain an investor. Pure Barre, a mix of ballet, pilates and resistance training, has over 300 barre fitness studios across 42 states and the District of Columbia. Piper Jaffray & Co. and Stephens Inc. advised Pure Barre.


Sobrato Capital hires Bay Hills partner Chiang

Sobrato Capital has hired Albert Chiang as managing director, private equity. Chiang will assist with the management of the group’s private equity fund and direct investment program. Chiang joined Sobrato from Bay Hills Capital, where he was a partner and member of the firm’s investment committee. He also worked as a principal with FTV Capital and vice president at Catterton Partners.


Catterton Partners exits Hillshire Brands

Hillshire Brands has closed its buy of Van’s Natural Foods from Catterton Partners. No financial terms were disclosed although previous news reports pegged the value of the purchase at $165 million. Van’s Natural Foods is a frozen breakfast and snack foods brand.


Catterton Partners invests in Flywheel Sports

Indoor cycling brand Flywheel Sports said Thursday that it has secured an undisclosed amount of funding. The Benvolio Group, the personal investment arm of the Frankfort family and Catterton Partners led the round with participation from other investors that included Global Endowment Management. Jay Galluzzo, the firm’s CEO and Ruth Zukerman, its creative director, will remain in their roles. Moelis & Company advised Flywheel on the transaction.

ePrize Acquires Promotions.com

ePrize, a Pleasant Ridge, Michigan-based company that specializes in mobile, social and Web campaigns and was acquired last summer by the private equity firm Catterton Partners, is itself announcing an acquisition. Under terms that aren’t being disclosed, ePrize has purchased Promotions.com, a company that offers brand contents and other “consumer-activation tactic.” The move marks ePrize’s fifth acquisition is less than two years.
